It's us - from Snohomish, WA
I'm Kirstan and here with my dark dogs, via Aimee (or whoever approved me, thanks!) - I live with a 4 year old pit bull/dane x (probably), Coal. He is perfect. Actually perfect. He is a privilege that I am likely undeserving of having but thankful for the opportunity.
I have Audry, a 5 year old pit bull girl who is a dog version of me. She's sassy, opinionated, nosy, diligent and on task but if there is something sparkly that's interesting enough, she'd like to at least evaluate it's place of importance. She is from Robin in Colorado (merriterrier) and I couldn't love her more.
I had 2 lovely red dogs before, one an Amstaff (Emmitt) from Red Hot Staffs courtesy of Karen Herrold in Portland, and a pit bull (Cobi) from Animal Farm Foundation in NY. I miss the little red dogs every day. They made it so much easier for the dark dogs.
I have a foster Kelpie x named George, he's 10 - he is lovely and funny. He is NOT like the pit bulls. At all. They all 'like' each other.
I've been involved in rescue for a while - I'm sort of in it now when someone needs help (don't contact me just b/c you 'moved' or your adult dog is fighting with the same sex puppy you brought home 8 months ago).
I thank you all for being great dog stewards and for fighting the neverending stream of stupidity that seems to sew itself into breed ownership and/or breed hatred. It's calming to know there are several of us who are articulate and present well in this little media frenzied public ordeal we are sometimes faced with.
I'm an accountant - if you want personal stuff. I work for Webfilings (HQ in Ames!), dig my job, work from home or out of our office in Fremont (Seattle) where my dogs are welcome. LUCKY!!
Thanks all!
